Landscape/Scenery Gallery
While I love this category, it is simply not my strong suit. I am very proficient technically, not so strong on the creative side. And, landscape and scenery is more about seeing something creative and capturing it. I guess for me these shots are more about the feeling I had when I shot them. The Northern Lights are just magical. All of those shots are from being out in the middle of nowhere in Alaska, and getting up in the middle of the night and to the spectacle of the Northern Lights. I am not a particularly religious man, but you can not experience something like that, with nobody else around for miles and miles, and not believe in something much bigger than mankind. It is truly awe inspiring. My favorite shot, though, is probably the one of Hannah overlooking the Glacier. She was quite sick at the time, she died a few months after that shot was taken, and it just seems to me that she was looking out in the distance to see what laid ahead for her.
